What Happened: Launch of SAMADHAN SAMAROH 2026

The Supreme Court of India initiated 'SAMADHAN SAMAROH'—an acronym for 'Supreme Court Action for Mediated Adjudication and Disputes Harmonization Across Nation'—commencing on 21st April, 2026. The drive will culminate in a three-day Special Lok Adalat held on 21st, 22nd, and 23rd August, 2026.

The primary objective of this exercise is to advance the vision of 'participative justice' and 'doorstep delivery of justice' by resolving pending Supreme Court matters through amicable, consent-based dispute resolution mechanisms.

Case Selection and Institutional Framework

Initial identification of eligible cases where scope for consensual settlement exists is conducted category-wise by the Supreme Court's Centre for Research and Planning (CRP). Eligible dispute categories encompass Banking Civil Law, Compensation and MACT Matters, Consumer and RERA Disputes, Negotiable Instruments Act (1881) matters, Family Laws, Labour and Industrial Laws, Land Acquisition, Property Tax, Rent Disputes and Eviction, Service Laws, Transfer Petitions, as well as Direct and Indirect Taxation.

To gather cases, a dedicated Google Form is provided exclusively for litigants, Advocates-on-Record (AORs), and the general public with pending Supreme Court cases. Legal services authorities at state, high court, district, or taluk levels (SLSAs/HCLSCs/DLSAs/TLSCs) are explicitly restricted from filling this form. On the ground, operations are managed by a One Stop Centre (War Room) located in Rooms 806 & 808, B Block, Additional Building Complex, Supreme Court, under the Director, CRP.
